After recently receiving some very bad news from home I have decided to support the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand. So I will be doing Off Road Aotearoa in an effort to raise money and promote awareness of Mental Health issues.
Mental health problems have affected a lot of my friends through the years and very recently I lost my brother to suicide (aged 32). I feel it is something not talked about enough in society, this ignoring of the problem only makes it worse for people suffering in silence. I want to raise awareness through this website as well as my other social media outlets and hopefully raise some money for a great cause. Here is a little more information about the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand,
The Mental Health Foundation is a charity that works towards creating a society free from discrimination, where all people enjoy positive mental health and wellbeing.
Each year 1 in 5 Kiwis experience a mental health problem. It is our wish that no one has to face this on their own.
The Mental Health Foundation covers the A-Z of mental health information and support, taking a holistic approach and promoting what we know makes and keeps people mentally well.
I want to raise $4500, a $1 for every km. It may seem like a lot but together we can really make a difference! Donate here to change some lives!
So guys watch this space for more information about my money raising efforts!
